A Letter To An Old Me

iScriblr_letterToMyself

Dearest future me,

Crushing life's peril,
How fine you've turned out to be.
A fearless rebel!
I'm glad you took your chances,
Coz I can't wait to be YOU!

 Love, your thankful "younger" self!

This post is written in response to OctPoWriMo Challenge – where you’ll write a “POEM” everyday for 31 days, using the prompt word. Follow this link to learn more about it, see other submissions, and to share your own. Come and join in the fun folks!

Day 7 word prompt is “UNSENT LETTERS!”

Suggested Form – We all have hundreds, perhaps thousands, of un-sent (and unwritten) letters inside us. Today’s prompt provides an opportunity to write at least one of those letters.

I aimed at writing a TANKA to challenge myself to fit in “what I would say to my older self” in just 5 lines and 31 syllables. Hope I did justice!

As always any feedback and advise is more than appreciated!

  1. You TOTALLY did it justice!!! In a couple years I’ll be 50 (my older self!!! Wha???) and speaking from the other side of the fence, this is exactly the letter my younger self should have written to me. It’s a good feeling to know I’ve made my younger self proud, and I’m happy that you have too! Thanks for making my day. xoxo

    1. Aww.. Thank you so much.

You are an inspiration to many like me and your “wonderful” undying spirit for adventure and gaining experience motivates many around!🙏❤️

  2. I heard about letters to your younger self, but never to your future self. Really enjoyed this post! Maybe I’ll write a letter to my future self too!🤗♥️

      1. Nothing quite like knowing we like who are and truly believing in ourselves. Words of encouragement from friends and family are wonderful and helpful, but that true and meaningful self reflection is definitely very powerful.❤️🤗

    1. Hahaha.. #betterLateThanNever 😂😂

Well, tbh, I really admire you for your gutsy writing skills and the “damn-care” attitude! For me, you already are a #rebelHeart ❤️
