U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018

Hey Everyone! I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend! Well, mine was super “BOMB!” *woot woot*

So, what do you do when you get a chance to meet your GODS – You know, the kind of deities that you have worshiped, celebrated and idolized all your lives? For starters, you jump right at the opportunity, even if it means that you have to drive down 211.9 miles (341 km) to a different town, postponing your RCT (Root Canal Treatment) for another day! Well who’d said attaining “NIRVANA” will be an easy task! “Moksha” – is all about penance, hard work and fortitude, right? *so-hum*

For the ones who don’t know what I am talking about and are finding my “reference to the Gods” a little too much crazy – I met my GODS! Yes, I sure did! Keeping all my pain and agony aside (tooth aches can be vicious!) – I finally fulfilled my forever dream of experiencing U2 in action! Thanks to the last-minute “seats availability”, which was surprising since all their others shows were sold out and my Huz’s extravagant heart – I was happily swaying and humming at the U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018 at Nashville, Tennessee. (God’s work, me thinks!)

Here’s my experience of “meeting my idols” – as raw, as wild, as unadulterated as it could be! *happy tears*

Bedazzled!

Well, for the ignorant ones – U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin formed in 1976. The group consists of Bono (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), the Edge (lead guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion). They have released 14 studio albums and are one of the world’s best-selling music artists in history, having sold more than 170 million records worldwide! They have won 22 Grammy Awards, which is more than any other band, and in 2005, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Also, Rolling Stone ranked U2 at number 22 on its list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time!” Music Gods, YES, indeed!

Throughout their career, as a band and as individuals, U2 have campaigned for human rights and social justice causes, including Amnesty International, Jubilee 2000, the ONE/DATA campaigns, Product Red, War Child, and Music Rising. (Another undeniable, indisputable reason to be their FAN!)

Woho.. What a night! With 20,000 “die-hard” fans in attendance – jiving to mind-blowing music, phenomenal visuals and chart-busting songs by U2 – it was night to remember and cherish. It was a superbly fun-filled, crazily captivating and insanely thrilling affair – that beyond a shadow of a doubt, transported us to the seventh skies! With happy tears running across our faces, we danced the night away – our hearts filled with contentment and serenity, our souls captivated. Well yes, dreams do come true!

    1. Spot on!❤

So Hum is a phrase comprised of two Sanskrit words. The literal translations are –
      So: “That” (As you inhale)
      Hum: “I” (As you exhale)
Therefore, the translation of So Hum is “I Am That.” Many Vedic scholars have interpreted the “That” in the mantra to represent the Universe, and it is now widely understood that the “So Hum” mantra symbolizes the fact that we are all connected to the universal energy that is constantly supporting and nourishing us in the ways we need and desire. It falls into the same concept as “oneness,” or “I am one with the Universe and all of creation.”
